FIRST AID & CPR/aed TRAINING
Total Performance Rehab offers Canadian Red Cross first aid courses. Group registrations can be arranged for any of the courses below by contacting TPR by phone or email. Scheduling options are available.
CPR/AED training in Adult, Child and Baby Resuscitation
This 3-6 hr workshop, depending on the level, covers Levels A, C or HCP CPR and the Automated External Defribillator (AED). Certification is valid for 3 years.
Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED
This 14-16 hr. workshop covers personal safety, Level C CPR and AED skills, emergency care of life-threatening injuries and care for head, spine, fractures and dislocations, soft tissue, poisoning, environmental and sudden medical emergencies. Certification is valid for 3 years.
Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Recertification
This 8-hr. course reviews the above material. Participants attend a full SFA course on each alternative retraining (6 years following original course). Certification is valid for 3 years.
Red Cross Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED
This 8-hr. workshop covers personal safety, Level C CPR/AED skills and emergency care of life-threatening injuries. Certification is valid for 3 years. To re-cert EFA, participants attend a full course.
Sport Injury Prevention & Care (SIPAC) with CPR Certification
This 8-hr. course is designed for individuals who require CPR "A" (adult) Certification with a focus on common sport injuries (strains, sprains, fractures, head & spinal, bleeding).
Planning for Sport Safety;
Preventing Injuries Through Proper Training;
Preparing to Help Injured Athletes;
Emergency Action Plan;
Head and Spine Injuries; and
Injuries to Soft Tissue and Bone.
The Sport First Aid manual, Red Cross CPR Booklet, CPR Certificate and SIPAC Letter of Completion are included.
SPORT Wrapping & Taping
The SPORT Wrapping & Taping course is a 4-hr hands-on workshop that is Specialized High Skills Major (SHSM) approved. This workshop is facilitated by a Certified Athletic Therapist, through Total Performance Rehab. The students will learn the basic wrapping and taping techniques used in the prevention and care of the most common sport injuries. This workshop covers the following taping techniques: turf toe, ankle sprains, shin splints, jumper's knee, wrist and thumb sprains as well as some wrapping techniques: acute injuries (ankle, shoulders) and muscle strains (quads/hamstrings, groin).
The SPORT Wrapping & Taping Handbook, all materials (tape and supplies and a Certificate of Completion are included.
